RECAP: Qobuz Returns to Newport Folk and Jazz Festivals, Presents Official Late-Night Aftershows

Paris, 11 August 2026 – Qobuz, the independently owned high-quality music streaming and download platform, returned to the Newport Folk and Newport Jazz Festivals this summer for its second year partnering with the Newport Festivals Foundation. As an official sponsor this year across both festival weekends, Qobuz presented a pair of late-night aftershows featuring Courtney Barnett with Tiny Gun and Butcher Brown & Friends. Qobuz also extended its presence throughout the festival experience with on-site signage, and sponsorship of the official Folk and Jazz Festival apps, which featured links to stream artists on Qobuz as well as complimentary trial offers to try out the service.
Following the opening day of Newport Folk on Friday, July 24, Australian singer-songwriter Courtney Barnett took the stage for a sold-out performance at the Newport Blues Café, with support from Tiny Gun and an appearance from Hayley Williams. Presented by Qobuz as an official Newport Folk aftershow, the intimate downtown Newport performance benefited the Newport Festivals Foundation.

One week later, Qobuz continued the festivities during Newport Jazz with an official aftershow featuring Butcher Brown & Friends on Friday, July 31, who were joined by Grammy-winning drummer Nate Smith. The acclaimed Richmond, Virginia-based collective brought its distinctive blend of jazz, funk and hip-hop to the Newport Blues Café, extending the festival experience late into the evening.
