In March of 2022, International Anthem and Qobuz began a semi-regular series of co-presented shows in the hi-fi confines of Brooklyn's Public Records.
The ongoing series – now approaching the three year mark – has a become somewhat of a Big Apple home base for the International Anthem family, as eight different artists to date have celebrated new or recent releases with IA@PR performances.

In the tradition of International Anthem's affinity for 'capturing the context', and to take full advantage of the acoustically superior Sound Room at Public Records, every single one of these shows has been recorded. Excerpts from four of those shows have already been released on Qobuz, where they are available exclusively for high-resolution streaming and download.

Today, we are very happy to release another three recordings on Qobuz, from some of our favorite performances to have taken place in this series. Details on all below.

International Anthem @ Public Records (Volume 2) features a twelve minute excerpt from a legendary performance by Anteloper – the duo of late/great trumpeter/synthesist/vocalist jaimie branch and her longtime partner in sound, drummer/synthesist Jason Nazary - at Public Records on July 16, 2022, just a month after their album Pink Dolphins was released.

Nazary gave this track the retrospective title "sol shake" to commemorate a very special moment at that show – it was the first time that branch's young niece Soledad (aka Sol) got to see her tia jaimie perform. An Anteloper show is a very loud atmosphere for a toddler, of course, so Sol had spent a large portion of the night outside. "sol shake" picks up in the moment that Sol came inside the venue and started really getting into the music.

International Anthem @ Public Records (Volume 6) features seven and a half minutes of Damon Locks & Rob Mazurek's performance at Public Records on July 29th, 2023. It was just one day after the release of their new duo project/album New Future City Radio.

The concept for the New Future City Radio project is: transmissions from a pirate radio station from the future. The day before this Public Records performance, International Anthem organized a 24 hour pirate radio program – called Tomorrow Is Listening – featuring music from a dozen independent record labels that was broadcast into over 75 record shops across the globe. The broadcast culminated in a performance by Locks & Mazurek, live from Co-Prosperity in Chicago. Less than 24 hours later, they were in Brooklyn, doing this performance at Public Records.

International Anthem @ Public Records (Volume 7) features an incredible Ben LaMar Gay performance of the song "Aunt Lola and the Quail" from his 2021 International Anthem/Nonesuch release Open Arms to Open Us. On this night - October 29, 2023 – Gay was fronting his working quartet with guitarist Will Faber, tuba player Matthew Davis, and drummer Tommaso Moretti. The band were fresh off a European tour and were absolutely smoking hot.
