Qobuz' Georges Fornay and Dan Mackta Make 2025 Billboard Global Power Players
Second consecutive list appearance for Mackta, Qobuz’ Managing Director of North America and Northern Europe and third list placement for Fornay, Qobuz’ Deputy CEO
Qobuz, the French Hi-Res streaming and download platform, has been named to Billboard’s 2025 Global Power Players list. Deputy CEO Georges Fornay earns a placement for the third year in a row, while Dan Mackta, Managing Director for North America and Northern Europe, appears on the list for the second consecutive year, following both executives’ inclusion in 2024. As the worldwide recorded-music business grew for the tenth consecutive year, Fornay and Mackta are recognized for driving the success of artists outside of the United States.
Under Fornay and Mackta's leadership, Qobuz achieved significant milestones over the past year, including its expansion into Japan (its 26th regional market), the launch of Qobuz Connect—a long awaited feature announced last week that ensures seamless continuity between Hi-Fi devices—the introduction of the Studio Student plan, and more. In March, Qobuz became the first streaming company to publicly release its per-stream royalty rate, a move representing a major step forward for transparency in the streaming industry. Over the past year, Qobuz also expanded its offerings with the addition of DSD/DXD formats and dedicated label and awards pages, reinforcing its commitment to delivering deeper, richer experiences for music lovers.
